2nd Annual Hawaii Kai Dog Walk

Comments:Join Hawaii Kai dog lovers and Hui 'Ilio Hawaii for a 2.3-mile dog walk through Hawaii Kai. The purpose of the event is to bring the community together to support the development of the Hawaii Kai Dog Park. Registration starts at 7 a.m., paws hit the pavement at 8 a.m. Afterwards stay for door prizes and photo sessions. Pre-registration deadline is May 14, 2006. Every pre-registered walker receives a free Hui 'Ilio Hawaii T-shirt. To register, download the form at the group's Web site at www.hui-ilio.org. Our mission is to promote safe and friendly places for dogs and their people to play, and to promote responsible dog ownership.

Comments:PETWALK 2005 is our annual fundraiser for the Hawaiian Humane Society. Thousands of people collect pledges and come together to support the work we do on behalf of Oahu's animals. Come join us -- and bring your pet! This unique and entertaining walk features a two-mile course around Magic Island and Ala Moana Park with activities for participants and their pets. (A shorter course is set for short-legged pets.) After the walk is the popular Pet Costume Contest and more! It's a fun, fur-tastic way to support the programs and services that the Hawaiian Humane Society provides to our community! PETWALK promotes the human-animal bond and humane treatment of all animals!

Comments:Hawaii Wiener Derby announces the running of the 3rd Annual 2011 Hawaii Wiener Derby at the Hawaiian Humane Society Canine Game Day to be held Saturday, May 14th, 10:00am 2:00pm at Thomas Square in Honolulu. The Hawaii Wiener Derby is held annually at the Hawaiian Humane Society Canine Game Day, a free event to thank the community for their generous donations to the Hawaiian Humane Societys causes. The dachshund race is a family event centralized in the middle of the Game Day held at Thomas Square. The race attracts a large majority of Hawaiis dachshund community and their friends, family and supporters from every island, as well as providing hilarious entertainment for those attending the Game Day with all breeds of dogs.Last year 125 dachshunds participated in the race, and Hawaii Wiener Derby coordinators anticipate that this years attendance will be nearer to 150-200 dachshunds and up to 500 of their fans. Started in 2009, Hawaii Wiener Derby is one of the Hawaii's leading dog events bringing together families and their pets for fun and fellowship.Registration is $12.00 until April 15th; $15.00 after. Admission is free!
