Comments:. It?s the third annual Purina Pro Plan Rally to Rescue BARK-B-QUE. Admission donation is $3.00 with dogs and children 10 and under free. This year a food drive for the Samaritan Center and local animal rescues and shelters is again included, so we ask everyone to be generous.

There will be rescue and shelter animals available for adoption and everyone is invited to bring their own dog (on a leash.) There will be a variety of vendors, raffles, 50/50 raffle, activities for kids, games for dogs and a nail trimming clinic.

Bar-b-qued hot dog meals will be available so come have some fun, enjoy a light dinner and then head on over to Memorial Pool with your dog for a dip in the pool at the annual Hot Dippety Dog event from 6-7pm.

Dog Park and Aquatic Center rules apply. St. Louis artist Bob O?Neil has designed a special Maplewood Dog Swim T-shirt for the event. The shirts will be on sale at the swim. Small, medium, large and extra large t-shirts will be $15 and XX-Large T-shirts will be $20. The swim is held by the Maplewood Dog Park Group to let St. Louis area dogs have their day at the pool. Comments:Canine Carnival - "Where the dogs play the games and win the prizes, not the people!" The Animal Protective Association of Missouri will hold its 15th annual Canine Carnival at Tilles Park in Ladue on October 2, 2005 from 10 am to 2 pm. Dogs can particapate in games such as the Steak Walk (a "cake" walk for dogs), have their speed clocked against a radar gun in our Speedy Dog Challenge, or win a prize for their feline sibling who wasn't able to attend (no cats allowed), just to name a few. Dogs can also raise money for our homeless animials by getting pledges from friends and family and participating in our Pooch Parade. Their will be doggie demonstrations, food for humans, entertainment and much more. LOUIS - Dog lovers can help fight breast cancer with "Celebrate Spot," a walk for dogs and their people benefiting the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, Sunday, October 7th in Forest Park. The walk kicks off at 9am from the Upper Muny parking lot.
Participants can choose from a one-mile fun walk or a 5K walk through Forest Park.
Proceeds are earmarked for Siteman's "Young Women's Breast Cancer Program." There is little research focused specifically on young women with breast cancer and few support programs available to them. The Siteman program was created to focus on this group.
