Comments:This is a free event that is open to all breeds (except Pit Bull as prohibited by ordinance). Prizes and attendance gifts will be given while quantities last. Competition categories will be "smallest", "largest", "best trick", "best dressed", and "most look-a-like" (dog & owner). There is also a "best in show" for our favorite overall pet. Registration is required so be there between 11 am and 1:30 pm. After the competition, we will have a DiscDog Demo. This is in conjunction with Ferguson StreetFest 2007 so stick around after the competition to enjoy great food, music and family fun.

Comments:Canine Carnival - "Where the dogs play the games and win the prizes, not the people!" The Animal Protective Association of Missouri will hold its 15th annual Canine Carnival at Tilles Park in Ladue on October 2, 2005 from 10 am to 2 pm. Dogs can particapate in games such as the Steak Walk (a "cake" walk for dogs), have their speed clocked against a radar gun in our Speedy Dog Challenge, or win a prize for their feline sibling who wasn't able to attend (no cats allowed), just to name a few. Dogs can also raise money for our homeless animials by getting pledges from friends and family and participating in our Pooch Parade. Their will be doggie demonstrations, food for humans, entertainment and much more. LOUIS - Dog lovers can help fight breast cancer with "Celebrate Spot," a walk for dogs and their people benefiting the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, Sunday, October 7th in Forest Park. The walk kicks off at 9am from the Upper Muny parking lot.
Participants can choose from a one-mile fun walk or a 5K walk through Forest Park.
Proceeds are earmarked for Siteman's "Young Women's Breast Cancer Program." There is little research focused specifically on young women with breast cancer and few support programs available to them. The Siteman program was created to focus on this group.

The event is free to attend, and a $10 registration donation benefits animal welfare organizations like Open Door Animal Sancutary, a no-kill animal shelter just outside of St. Louis.
