The event also offers numerous educational opportunities for pet lovers including a lecture on alternative treatments for animals, basic dog training instruction and a special presentation on child and canine rearing called "Kids + Dogs = Harmony," demonstrating why having kids and dogs isn't necessarily mutually exclusive. Pet owners who want to attend the Boxer Bash are welcome to bring dogs, but organizers ask them to use a regular leash and not a flexi-lead. Attendees are also discouraged from bringing puppies to the event, though dogs of all breeds that have received a full series of vaccinations are welcome. In addition to the Boxer-centric activities taking place at the event, there will be shopping opportunities for owners including a bake sale and food center, canine outfitters and stylists, pet portrait artists and ice cream provided by Coldstone Creamery. Representatives from other Wisconsin Dog Rescue organizations will be on hand to provide information on additional breeds in need of rescue across Wisconsin, including Shelties, Weimaraners and Shih Tzus. To help the group cover event costs and raise funds for its statewide animal rescue efforts, there is a $5 per individual/$10 per family admission fee.
