Aspen Aspen Times Newspaper 310 E Main St Aspen, Colorado 81611 Phone:970-925-3414 Business Type: Map Comments:I worked at the aspen times newspaper for 2 years, and they have about 18 dogs and one cat (that they adopted from the shelter). All the dogs were easily over 75 pounds; except the fat dacshund, that weighed in at a mere 50 pounds. They love their animals, and treats abound at everyone's desks.a great place to work all the way around, and if you can afford the rent in aspen, it's a great place to be, too. (Adcom 911) 7321 Birch Street Commerce City, Colorado 80022 Phone:303-289-2235 Business Type: Map Comments:We dispatch for 5 police departments, and 7 fire departments. We average approximately 400,000 calls for service annually, answering 911 lines and non-emergent lines as well. The stress level is usually extreme. We were informed of a Cairn Terrier puppy one of our animal wardens picked up, and tested him in the center. The employee who is allergic to dogs hasn't had any reactions. After a couple of weeks, we adopted him and he is very much loved already. He is 3 months old and we're working through the puppy problems together. Potty training and chewing on our computer cables are the only real obstacles we've encountered. We have named him Scooby. One of our affiliated computer software companies (SCC Inc.) have volunteered to re-imburse us for care costs for Scooby. We are sending out a press release announcing our new staff member, and hoping to solicit more donations. The yard we have needs grass or pea gravel, and some railroad ties to place around the edge where Scooby squeezes out. Grass isn't a very likely option since we don't have a grounds keeper, nor plumbing to support a sprinkler in this area. This area seems to be our immediate goal for his care right now. Employees have taken him for walks on each shift, and he isn't lacking for attention at all. Even our hard core employees warm up to him. We work adjacent to a detoxification center, and their clients also enjoy petting him through the fence. He is therapeutic to many people.
