Our residents are encouraged to receive visits from their well-behaved pet(s) that are now in the care of a family member. We participate in the LaGrange Park Pet Parade every year. We are working on developing programs in conjunction with the Oak Park Animal Care League to provide assistance with pet ownership for older adults in the community who are in need of companionship. Animals have a WONDERFUL and AMAZING things for seniors, and add so much to a workplace where we sometimes deal with very serious subjects! It is great to see the elderly patients light up when they are able to play with a dog. One of our activities aids brings her puppy in once a week and the residents have loved watching this small pup grow into a dog.
