This pledge walk is sponsored by the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico to benefit the homeless animals in the city. It begins in the main area of Balloon Fiesta Park and is an annual Fall event for the whole family. There are various walk and runs with a variety of prizes, and hundreds of dogs and thousands of people take part. People who come without a dog can rent one for the event. There are doggy demonstrations, pet product vendors, entertainment, breed and animal rescue groups, and more. Dogs must be well behaved, be on no more than a 6 foot leash, and be cleaned up after. Extendable leashes are not allowed, and dogs need to be current on all vaccinations.
