Originally this garden began as a test, and now visitors can enjoy more than 2000 species of hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and related plants growing in garden like settings. In addition to offering extraordinary vistas of flowers and plants, the garden is surrounded almost completely by water in a grove of towering trees that feature three spectacular waterfalls and a high fountain. The garden is open daily from dawn to dusk March to October. The garden is also the site of many flower shows and plant sales, and now there are wheelchair accessible routes. Dogs of all sizes are allowed. Dogs must be well behaved, leashed at all times, and please bring bags to clean up after your pet and dispose of waste properly.
