This city park is the largest city park in the US at almost 5,000 acres. A forested park, it has a massive tree canopy with substantial undergrowth, allowing the park to serve as a natural air purifier, water collector, and erosion controller. Some of the amenities include a natural area, guided tours, hiking/biking/equestrian trails, a vista point, and more than 112 bird and 62 mammal species. Dogs of all sizes are allowed throughout the park. Dogs must be friendly, well behaved, leashed and cleaned up after at all times, and displaying tags showing proof of current license and rabies vaccination. Dogs must be under their owner's control at all times.
