This city is home to the most extensive urban pathways in North America crossing almost 900 kms, 67 bridges, passing more than 750 signs, and most of the pathways connect to parks and numerous activity areas. Most of the paths are even cleared in winter for year round enjoyment; the pathway hotline is 403-268-2300. Pathway maps can be obtained at the above address or at any Calgary Co-op location for $2. Dogs are allowed on the pathways. They must stay to the right, and be leashed (unless in off-lead area) and cleaned up after. Dogs must be under their owner's control at all times, and cycling or in-line skating with a leashed dog is prohibited.
