These parks were combined to protect and interpret the natural features and native culture of the area. It also affords visitors the unique opportunity to explore a volcanic landscape. They offer guided tours, special events, and various trails and recreation. Dogs of all sizes are allowed at no additional fee. Dogs may not be left unattended, and they must be leashed and cleaned up after. Dogs are not allowed on the quided tour trail to the volcano, however, they are allowed on the other trails on leash. This campground is closed during the off-season. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campground.
