The Homer Spit is a piece of land that sticks out 4.5 miles into Kachemak Bay. Many boats are harbored on the Spit and many of Homer's restaurants, boat tours, gift shops and other tourist attractions are located here. The Homer Spit has the longest road into ocean waters worldwide. Many of the restaurants on the Spit have patio dining and welcome your dog. Some of the boat tours and boat taxis do as well. There is camping and lodging on and near the Spit.
