These wetlands, created by the melding of land and sea, create habitats for a wide variety of marine, bird, and wildlife as well as allowing for recreational, educational, and scientific opportunities. There are several entrances to the refuge; miles 3 and 6 of Egan Drive, just west of the airport at the end of Radcliffe Road, mile 8.5 on the North Douglas H, and several public access sites along the shoreline in Juneau City and Borough. Dogs are allowed; they must be leashed, or under strict voice control, and cleaned up after at all times.
