This is an excellent view of a glacier and your dog can take it all in with you. They are allowed on all of the trails throughout the park including the best views of the glacier. Dogs are not allowed in the visitor center or on the elevated boardwalk but they are allowed most everywhere else. The best photo-ops are from the Photo Point Trail; the tell-tale signs of land recovering from glaciations to vegetation can be found on the Trail of Time; the Ecology Trail details the glacial effects on land; the East Glacier Loop and Nugget Creek Trail tells about mining and hydroelectricity, and the West Glacier Trail (located off Montana Creek Road) provides glacier and 50-200 year old forest views as well as being a good place for birding. Dogs must be leashed at all times in the park.
