Restored in 1992 complete with beautiful landscaping and gardens, this 1851 National Historic Landmark is a working capitol that also preserves the history and politics of the state. It is the site where the 1 and only Confederate President was sworn in and also where the 1965 Right to Vote March ended. Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed in buildings. Dogs must be leashed and under their owner's control at all times.
