Piestewa Peak (formally Squaw Peak) is 2,608 feet high and is one of the best known peaks in Phoenix. The summit trail does not allow dogs or horses, all other trails in the park allow leashed dogs. To take your dog up most of the summit for the views you can use the 3 3/4 mile Freedom Trail which is a more gradual slope than the Summit Trail. There are several other easy trails as well as difficult ones on which you may take your dog. Some of the trails begin off Squaw Peak Drive. Parking is available. Pets must be leashed and please clean up after them.
