A memorial park dedicated to its explorer, Coronado. There is auto touring, picnicking, hiking, bird watching, and a museum. Dogs are not allowed in buildings, in caves, or on most all the trails. They are allowed on all paved roads, and on the Crest Trail the 5.3 miles one way to Miller Peak (elevations: 6575 feet to 9456 feet at Miller Peak) and into the National Forest. The trailhead is across the road at the northeast end of the Montezuma Pass parking area. The trail climbs for 2 miles to the northwestern boundary of the Memorial, where it enters the Coronado National Forest. There it continues along the crest of the Huachuca Mountains to the turnoff for Miller Peak, the highest peak in the Huachucas. Dogs must be kept leashed at all times, and cleaned up after. Dogs may not be left unattended anywhere in the park or in automobiles.
