Town of Oatman

Town of Oatman Route 66 Oatman, Arizona
Get Map or Directions
Oatman is an old mining town on a particularly mountainous part of Route 66 in western Arizona. It is unique in that wild burros roam the streets of town during the day before fleeing to the hills at night. There are a number of tourist stores on the 1800s main street and your dog may go into some of them with you. You may bring your leashed dog to town, but, be warned - a number of the burros do not like dogs and may try to kick them. Please make sure that your dog keeps its distance from the burros. This is not that hard to do as the burros seem to congregate in certain areas with certain shopkeepers.
