This passenger ferry service runs between Port Angeles in Washington and Victoria. Crossing time is about one hour. Dogs are allowed and must be leashed. The ferries in Port Angeles leave from the Landing Mall on Railroad Avenue. The ferries in Victoria leave from the port on Belleville Street. Currency exchange is available at the Port Angeles Reservation Office. Their toll free number in the U.S. is 1-800-633-1589. Reservations are recommended. Because you will be crossing over an international border, identification for Customs and Immigration is required. U.S. and Canadian citizens traveling across the border will need proof of citizenship such as your passport or a certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county or state/province where you were born. You will also need photo identification such as a current valid driver's license. People with children need to bring their child's birth certificate. Single parents, grandparents or guardians traveling with children often need proof or notarized letters from the other parent authorizing travel. Dogs traveling to Canada or returning to Canada need a certificate from their vet showing a rabies vaccination within the past 3 years. Dogs traveling to the U.S. or returning to the U.S. need to have a valid rabies vaccination certificate (including an expiration date and vet signature). The certificate must show that your dog has had the rabies vaccine at least 30 days prior to entry and within the past 36 months.
