Located in a steep, secluded mountain valley at 8,000 feet, Vallecito Lake offers some of the most scenic trails in the state. Trail maps can be picked up at the visitor center in Durango at 111 S Camino Del Rio (H 550/160) Monday thru Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. Dogs are allowed on the trail; they need to be leashed or under strong voice control.
