This park has an island that holds a mystery; in 1699 did Captain Kidd really bury his treasure on the island that is reached from the park by a sand/gravel bar that is exposed at high tide? Dogs are permitted for no additional pet fees, and they are allowed throughout the park except on the beach. Dogs must be under their owner's control at all times, and be leashed and cleaned up after.
