Dogs on leash are allowed in the parking lot and campgrounds of Everglades National park. They are not allowed on trails or wilderness areas. It is open year round this is the only subtropical preserve in North America. In the campgrounds and anywhere throughout this region where pets are allowed, pay close attention to them as alligators and snakes are always a danger. For more freedom to hike with your pet, try the BIg Cypress National Preserve nearby.
