Once a quarry for fossilized coral, visitors can still view the remnants of this important site along the 8-foot quarry walls; plus the park also features 5 self-guided trails and an educational center. The park is closed Tuesday and Wednesday; the Education Center is open Friday to Sunday from 9 am until 5 pm, and guided tours are also offered Friday to Sunday. Well mannered dogs are welcome in the park; they must be on no more than a 6 foot hand held leash and be cleaned up after promptly. Dogs are not allowed on beaches, along the natural shoreline, buildings, or at the picnic shelters, and they may not be tethered to trees, bushes, or park property. Dogs may not be left unattended.
