Dogs are not allowed in most of this park which includes the attractions and many public areas. However, dogs are allowed on the Cherokee Trail which goes around the base of the mountain, and the Nature Trail and Gardens. You and your pooch will also be able to see the Memorial Carving on the mountain which depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War; President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee, and Lt. General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Admission to the park is just under $20 per adult and less for children and seniors. The price includes the attractions, but unless you take turns watching the pooch, you will not be able to take advantage of the attractions. Dogs are also allowed at the campground and RV park. Pets must be leashed throughout the park. Dogs are not allowed at the Lasershow Lawn, the Walk Up Trail or Special Events Areas. The park is located 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta. To get there, take exit 39B off I-285 and go east on Highway 78 to exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance.
