North Idaho Native Plant Arboretum Ella Avenue and Ontario Street Sandpoint, Idaho
83864 Get Map or Directions
This arboretum is an ongoing educational venture by Kinnikinnick NPS volunteers and is located at the 13 acre Lakeview Park. Dogs have now been allowed at this city park and the arboretum on a trial basis. Habitat exhibits include dry forest, dry rock, interior rainforest, meadow, moist forest, riparian, and subalpine. Other exhibits include aspen, larch, and mediation groves, a young forest, and a kinnikinnick berm. The only exhibit that is not limited to native plants is the Wild Medicinals exhibit because they have naturalized to the wild over the last few hundred years. Dogs must be kept leashed and cleaned up after promptly.
