Dedicated to the preservation, conservation, and education of the community's natural heritage, this preserve is 1 of Open Lands 5 dog friendly preserves in the area, and the area is rich in native grasses and flowers, and at the south end is a lovely secluded wetland with a boardwalk and teaching platform. Dog owners must register with the preserve (272 E Deerpath, Suite 318, Lake Forest IL 60045) as members of Open Lands with dog walking privileges and receive a current dog-walking decal. Dogs must be leashed when in view of other people or animals, and they must be cleaned up after at all times. Only 3 dogs are permitted to be walked by one individual at a time, and all dogs must be licensed, healthy, and be current on all distemper, parvo, and rabies shots. Dogs must be well mannered, under their owner's control, and remain on the trails at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the wetlands or streams.
