Camps are offered for spring and fall in the Chain-of-Lakes region of Illinois. Offerings include a variety of Sports, Training, and Recreation activities that include such things as agility, water sports, games, lure coursing, and freestyle dance. Just for fun is a canine actor's studio, dog fur spinning, dog related craft projects, camp costumes and talent show, nature hikes, beach fun, campfires, after dinner movies, and canoeing. They also present almost 2 dozen presentations and demonstrations on such topics as holistic and traditional health/nutrition, emergency dog care, how to take good photos of your pet, animal communication, cooking for and with your dog, red cross certification canine CPR and First Aid, and dog massage. Some offerings for the human companions include a general store, gaming courts, fishing, and a fundraising yard sale. Lodging options for you and your pet include rustic cabins and seasonal lodges with single, double, or shared options for either. There is also tent camping available and a couple of pet friendly inns close by. Day use, 1 day camping, and extended camping are offered. Meals, lodging and programs are included in the camping fee. Before arriving at camp, a negative fecal sample and proof of vaccinations will be required - a pre-camp packet will detail the requirements. Dogs must also be in good health and free of fleas or any contagious diseases. Dogs must be under owner's control/care and be cleaned up after promptly at all times.
