In addition to the trails, picnic areas, interpretive trails, and the restored natural beauty of the park, this area is a significant archaeological site in that there is evidence of more than 10,000 years of human occupation. The burial mounds and artifacts are also on the National Register of Historic Places. Dogs are allowed throughout the park; they must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times.
