This 6 mile long barrier beach reaches from Marshfield in the north to Gurnet Point and Saquish in the south. From April 1st until September 15th dogs are allowed on the beach; they must be leashed, registered at the Duxbury Town Hall if they are to be taken on the beach, and the permit acquired must be carried by the handler of the dog at all times while on beach properties. Dogs are allowed on Duxbury Beach properties from 8 am until sunset only. Dogs are not allowed on dunes, wildlife areas, or any fenced areas, and they must be cleaned up after promptly. Dogs may not be on the front beach (Resident Beach) south to the poles defining the beginning of the 4 X 4 beach or on the back beach north of the Powder Point Bridge adjacent to the resident parking lot from April 1st until September 15th. Dogs must be under their owner's control at all times.
