The 4th largest historic house museum in the US, this 1920's 88,000 square foot, 110 room Tudor revival style mansion is filled with extensive collections, original art work, antique furnishings, and was the home of Matilda Dodge Wilson (widow of auto pioneer John Dodge) until bequeathing the 1,500 acre estate to the state-later becoming a part of Oakland University. Dogs are allowed to come and explore the grounds, but they are not allowed in any buildings or on tours. Dogs must be under their owner's control, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.
