This 8 mile pathway winds past historic and other sites of interest, lush parks, the Grand and Red Cedar Rivers, and for about a 2 mile walk visitors can cover a million scale miles per footstep as they explore a journey through the solar system. Dogs are allowed at the park and on the trail; they are not allowed off the trail in certain marked areas. Potter Park is one of the places where dogs may walk through but not stop. Dogs must be under their owner's control, on no more than a 6 foot leash, and cleaned up after at all times.
