Although a favorite spot for visitors, the many inhabitants, and migratory birds, this park is also an important education center dedicated to the preservation and continuing research of this unique peninsula. In addition to the interactive exhibits, there is a 75 foot observation tower. Dogs are allowed on the grounds and on the trails, and they are only allowed on the beaches after swim season is over and the lifeguards are gone. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times.
