Grand Teton National Park offers spectacular views of the jagged Teton Range, meadows, pine trees and beautiful blue lakes. This national park limits pets mostly to where cars can go. Pets are allowed in your car, on roads and within 50 feet of any road, campgrounds, picnic areas and parking lots. Pets are not allowed on any hiking trails, in the backcountry, on swimming beaches, or in any visitor centers. However, dogs are allowed on paths in the campgrounds, and can ride in a boat on Jackson Lake only. Dogs must be on a 6 foot leash or less, caged, crated, or in your car at all times. Pets cannot be left unattended or tied to an object. An activity you can do with your pet is to take a scenic drive. There are three scenic drives in the park. Many turnouts along the road offer exhibits on park geology, wildlife and plants. The Teton Park Road follows along the base of the Teton Range from Moose to Jackson Lake Junction. The Jenny Lake Scenic Drive skirts along Jenny Lake and offers great views of the Grand Teton peaks. This drive is one-way and starts just south of String Lake. You can reach this scenic drive by driving south at the North Jenny Lake Junction. Another scenic drive is the Signal Mountain Summit Road which climbs 800 feet to offer panoramic views of the Teton Range, Jackson Hole valley and Jackson Lake. For accommodations within the park, dogs are welcome in some of the Colter Bay Cabins and in some rooms at the Jackson Lake Lodge. For hiking trails that are dog-friendly, try the nearby Bridger-Teton National Forest.
