Once one of the upper South's largest plantations with 100s acres, it is now on the State Historic Register and only 31 original lakeside acres remain. Seven original 19th century structures are also on site and an interpretive tour give a succinct chronological social history of the plantations heydays and of the diverse residents that lived here at one time or another. Leashed dogs are allowed on site; they must be under their owner's control at all times and they are not allowed in buildings.
