This historic 26 room, 2-story home was once the summer residence of the founder of the town of Medora, Marquis de Mores and still holds many of the home's original furnishings. The town of Medora, named in honor of his wife, was also home to his beef packing plant that had several buildings, icehouses, and a railroad spur track. There is now a picnicking area next to the site. His entrepreneurial enterprises included refrigerated railroad cars, a stagecoach line, a freighting company, raising livestock, and land ownership. Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed inside the house. They must be leashed and cleaned up after.
