Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Theodore Roosevelt National Park On I 94 at Exits 25 or 27 (South Unit) Medora, North Dakota
58645 701-623-4466 Map
This Park is located in the North Dakota Badlands. It is named after the 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt. He was a great conservationist, who, out of concern for the future of our lands, established the National Forest Service in 1906. The park is open all year although some roads close at times due to snow. The campgrounds are also open all year (no hookups). Dogs are allowed in the park and the campgrounds at no additional fee, but dogs may not be left unattended at any time, and they are not allowed in any of the buildings, or on any of the trails. However, there are trails just outside the park where dogs are allowed. One of the trails is the Maahdaahhey Trail.
