This park provides many miles of boating recreation with direct access to other lakes through a set of locks that raises and lowers vessels through to the next water level. Dogs are welcome for no additional fee, but they must have proof of current rabies inoculation. Dogs may not be left unattended anywhere, and they must be quiet, well mannered, leashed (no more than 6 foot), and cleaned up after at all times. Dogs are not permitted on Lake George Islands, the beach, picnic areas, or in park buildings. The camping area offers 87 primitive sites with fireplaces, picnic tables, and restrooms.
