Want to enjoy the sights of New York City from the water, including the Manhattan Skyline and the Statue of Liberty? Or maybe you want to stay at a hotel in New Jersey and visit New York City during the day. Well, the nice folks at Seastreak allow dogs onboard their commuter ferries. Here are the rules: Dogs of all sizes must stay on the outside portion of the ferry and they need to be on a short leash. Dogs are not allowed on the inside area regardless of the weather unless you have a small dog and he or she is in a carrier. The ferries operate between Manhattan and New Jersey on a daily basis with up to 11 ferry rides during the weekday and about 4 ferry rides on the weekend. The ride lasts about 45 minutes each way and costs approximately $20 per round trip, half price for children and free for dogs! The ferries depart from Pier 11 (Wall Street) and East 34th Street in Manhattan and Atlantic Highlands and Highlands in New Jersey.
