Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve

The nature preserve, popular with local dog walkers, follows the Mohawk River and the Erie Canal for a number of miles. You will see a number of historical sites such as locks on the canal and other various historical markers. The area is also a wetland habitat for birds and plants. Dogs must be on leash at all times and must be cleaned up after. Take Cresent Road (Hwy 92) west from I-87 2.5 miles and turn left onto Van Vranken Rd. Turn right at Riverview Rd and the preserve will be on your left.
