This national park consists of 33,000 acres along the banks of the Cuyahoga River. Scenery and terrain varies from a rolling floodplain to steep valley walls, ravines and lush upland forests. Popular activities at this park include hiking, bicycling, birdwatching and picnicking. Dogs are allowed at the park including the hiking trails. Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after. Pets are not allowed inside any buildings. The park is open daily and can be accessed by many different highways, including I-77, I-271, I-80/Ohio Turnpike, and State Route 8. To get to Canal Visitor Center, exit I-77 at Rockside Road. Go approximately 1 mile east to Canal Road and turn right. The visitor center is about 1.5 miles on the right. To get to Happy Days Visitor Center, take State Route 8 to west State Route 303. The visitor center is about 1 mile on the left. There is no park entrance fee.
