This train system serves more than 450 destinations throughout Canada; Dogs are allowed for transport in the baggage area for an additional fee, and they may be fed and walked during stops. Pets must be crated and crates are available at the station if needed. The fee for small dogs is $15 per train each way; a small crate is 22X13X16 inches and rents for $50. The fee for medium sized dogs is $25 per train each way; a medium crate is 24X18X21 inches and rents for $75. The fee for a large dog is $40 per train each way; a large crate is 36X24X27 inches and rents for $120. The fee for an extra large dog is $50 per train each way; an extra large crate is 48X30X33 inches and rents for $150. Most stations are no longer than 1 to 2 hours apart, with longer stops each 6 - 10 hours even on cross country trips. The Train goes coast to coast in Canada from Vancouver to Toronto to Halifax, from Prince Rupert to Jasper, and other routes covering most of Canada.


IMPORTANT - DogFriendly.com recommends against travel to the Canadian province of Ontario with certain dogs due to this  2005 Breed Specific Legislation that took effect on August 29, 2005
