Popular and educational, this 80 acre botanical garden displays thousands of plants in more than 20 specialty gardens. There is an amphitheater for their annual Summer Concert Series, picnic areas and a café, a seasonal tram that allows you to get on and off anywhere in the gardens, and they are also host to many other planned events and activities throughout the year. Some of the spectacular scenery includes an educational forest with a 400 year old Oak tree, a children's garden, a refreshing water garden, a rose garden with a fountain and a view, a sensory garden, the Lewis and Clark garden, and many more, but unusual for public gardens-there is a Pet-Friendly Garden where "Max" the yellow lab (statue) welcomes all the canine guests. Dogs of all sizes are allowed throughout the park for no additional fee, and they can ride the tram too. Dogs must be on no more than an 8 foot leash, be well behaved, and cleaned up after at all times.
