Project POOCH is a non-profit organization that matches shelter dogs with incarcerated youths at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn. The youths train the dogs to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test and then place the dogs for adoption in the community. The dogs leave the program ready to be great pets, while their trainers re-enter the community with new job and personal skills and increased compassion and respect for all life. It's a win-win for the dogs, the youths and the community.
