A San Juan National Historic Site as well as a World Heritage Site, this was the largest fortress ever built in the new world by the Spanish. The grounds have been restored to their 18th century appearance, and there is an interesting military history to explore. Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they must be leashed and under their owner's control at all times. Dogs are not allowed inside the fort.
