Dogs are allowed off leash on this barrier island beach from 5 AM to 10 AM April through October, and from 5 AM to 12 Noon November 1st to March 31st; this does not include walkways or access paths to the area where they must be leashed (no longer than 10 feet). A pet permit is required that can be obtained at the Town Hall at 1610 Middle Street-proof of vaccinations and rabies required. Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach, paths, or the adjacent waters at any time from 10 AM to 6 PM from April 1st to October 31st; however they are allowed at these areas on a leash from 6 PM to 5 AM, April 1st to October 31st, and from 12 Noon to 5 AM from November 1st to March 31st. Dogs must be under their owner's control at all times. Dogs must be leashed when not in designated off-lead areas.
