Steeped in natural and cultural history, this park of 71,000 acres of spectacular terrain offers living history demonstrations, guided nature walks, gold-panning excursions, one of the largest bison herds in the world and a variety of recreational pursuits. Dogs of all sizes are allowed at no additional fee. Dogs may not be left unattended, and they must be leashed and cleaned up after in camp areas. Dogs are allowed on the trails, and they may be off lead then only if they are under strict voice command. Dogs are not allowed on beaches or in buildings. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campground.
