Rich in natural and cultural history, Black Hills offers spectacular scenery, the highest altitude east of the Rockies - Harney Peak, the Black Elk Wilderness, hundreds of miles of trails, 2 scenic byways, over 1,300 miles of waterways, and much more. Dogs are allowed throughout the park; they must be leashed or in a vehicle when in camp areas, and they may not be left unattended outside at any time. Dogs may be off leash in non-populated areas if they are under strict voice control and will not harass wildlife in any way.
