Take an elegant horse and carriage with your well-behaved pooch and view some historic sites in San Antonio. Most of the carriage drivers are animal lovers and will allow your pooch. Occassionally some of the drivers might not allow dogs, but the majority of them will accept dogs. Tours leave from the Alamo Plaza and include many historic sites including historic hotels, buildings and the Riverwalk. You can choose between a narrated tour or opt for a quiet romantic ride. A short tour is about 20 minutes and costs $25 per couple. A 40 minute tour runs $45 per couple and the King William tour is 1 hour and costs $65 per couple. Children under 10 ride free with a paying adult. Additional children under 10 years cost $5 each. Dogs ride for free. Carriage rides run from 7pm to 11:30pm daily, weather permitting. If it is too hot outside, the tours will not start until about 8pm. You can either pick up a carriage on Crockett Street next to the Alamo or call ahead and make a reservation at 210-337-6495.
