In the late 1930s this park gained star status when the CCC constructed the 1 3/4 acre sized, 25 foot deep artesian spring fed pool that swimmers also share with other aquatic life, delighting swimmers and scuba divers alike. Another popular draw is the underwater viewing station at Cienega. Dogs are allowed throughout the park and in the camp area; they are not allowed in buildings, the motel, or the pool. Dogs may not be left unattended at any time, they must be on no more than a 6 foot leash, and under their owner's control at all times.
