Built as one of the forts to protect new settlements, this strategically placed fort is one of the best existing examples of a frontier military outpost. It offers a number of interpretive and educational programs and living history events. Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they are not allowed in the buildings. Dogs must be leashed and under their owner's control at all times.
