From March through November, there are three guided walking tours which you and your pooch can choose from. They are all outdoor tours and your well-behaved leashed dog is welcome. The first tour is the Capitol Grounds. The tour highlights the lawns and gardens, and some interesting facts about the statehouse. This one hour tour is offered on Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 9am. The second tour is the Bremond Block. Walk through one of Austin's Victorian neighborhoods and view homes of the John Bremond Sr. family. These one and a half hour tours are on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. The third tour is Congress Avenue and Sixth Street. This tour focuses on the history and architecture of downtown Austin. These one and a half hour tours are Thursdays through Saturdays at 9am and Sundays at 2pm. All tours start promptly at their designated times. They are all FREE and they all start at the south steps on the Capitol, near Congress Avenue and 11th Street. Be sure to meet at the Capitol's south steps and not on the street corner. Reservations are not required, but please call ahead to verify times and days.
